Ginetta G50Z 2nd on Sat, just beaten by Ascari by a whisker, but G50Z turned the tables today - back in pos 1 !!
How long before they ban it from invites? (LOL)

Have to disagree with the title to the thread, the Rosso Verde Ferrari won the race on the road and certainly had the measure over the Ginetta (sorry, the G50 Never "Wiped the floor") However a dispute about Lester's afety clothing (per DSC) has amended the result.
Even with 12 starters, it was a good race yesterday. The battle between the Mosler and the Ascari was tight upto the stops, the pair running nose to tail for many laps, then suddenly dropped off. But a good race from what i watched.

I would have to say that it was the Ferrari that wiped the floor - obviously subject to being disqualified!
I must admit this year when I saw the number of cars that had entered my heart sank but in all the races I have watched the racing has been close with many different winners and plenty of overtaking. The spectacle and sound of many GT cars bombing round a track has diminshed for 2009 but at least the racing is just as good.
What will 2010 bring as the economic situation will certainly not have improved?

If it hadn't been for the second driver in the G50Z being a fair bit better than Hector they wouldn't have got anywhere as near to him as they did. Added to which the G50Z was being closed down by the Jones’ at a faster rate than it was closing down on the Fezza. 5 minutes longer and all but certainly the G50Z would have been behind the Ascari.
You’ll also not that the Ford GT’s fastest lap time was nearly half a second quicker than the G50Z’s and that the Mosler was more than a little off colour.
But don’t let the facts get in the way of a good headline

I don't know about any engine change but on Sunday it looked a pig under braking into the Esses, Shorty even span it himself.(the Ginetta being taken over by Piers Johnson)

The Ford had an argument with Wilds Fezza which cost them a possible race victory on their pace.
Piers is another gentleman driver as you rightly point out, that said, and as nice a bloke as Hector is, he's in a different league.
Piers is a heck of a lot quicker than Hector and the Ginetta is much more like our old TVR that he used to drive, so he's enjoying it a lot.
As an aside, it looks like the G50Z and Mosler have been kicked out of British GT for next year, so the Brothers Grimm and the other whingers have got their way. Nice work, chaps...

GT has (yet again) descended into a joke, so much for benefits of GT3 that we were all feed...
the only homologated GT3 cars entered were the 3 Ferrari's, the Ascari, the Aston, and the Ford GT.
Makes you wonder why they were so keen to dump Cup class (and nice to see it doing really well outside of SRO)
