Here's my problem, I'm 6'4" and rather slim (skinny even).

I am forced to wear 16" collar shirts so the fit on the body looks acceptable. The issue is that the sleeves are always at least 2" short. Really doesn't look good at all.

I have been plauged by this for years and have finally had enough.

Where can I get hold of some properly sized shirts that wont cost me the earth?

Thanks,

The Moose

I would have thought your best bet would be to get them made especially?? I know you said you didn't wanna spend a fortune though frown

Surely you could get a NHS grant for this - they seem to like handing out £££ for silly stuff like this!! biggrin

Cheers

Charles Tyrwhitt - up to 37 inch sleeve on a 15.5 inch collar. Standard sleeve is usually 33 inches - I wear a 34/35 sleeve. Reasonable prices too (unlike Pink who are friggin expensive for what they are). I like their non-iron shirts as they travel well in a roll-on bag for business trips.

Why not sow some shirt cuffs on the inside of your jacket sleeve. Problem solved

Depends how much you want to spend. I recently bought a shirt from the above, excellent service, I even sent it back for some alterations and that was f.o.c despite the fact that I'd made the measurements myself.

They ask you for several measurements around the body, so it fits just how you want it when it arrives.

Debenhams do shirts with extra long sleeves, sure some other shops will do too.

Short sleeve shirts are always an option but if you have to wear a tie you will look like a bit of a tool obviously.

Except for the fact that i see you are in the North East ..... do you ever head darn sarf to the Smoke??

I am 6ft 3 with arms like a gorilla too (scars on knuckles etc etc) and i always went to Herbie Frogg

They do all shirts in 3 sleve & body lengths so should have something to fit!

In the sales they usually do a 4 shirts for 100 notes.

Thanks for the quick respone and advice gents.

Going to hit some of the 'high street' places as mentioned until I'm next headed 'darn sarf' to get properly draped.

Thanks again.

Another option is TM Lewin.

They do various sleeve lengths, (up to 38" iirc), and fit me fine at 6'6"

I've never got on with High and Mighty, finding most of their stuff to be cheaply made tat sold at an inflated price.

Admittedly I haven't been there for a few years, but understand that I am not the only one who has had this problem.

+1

They do a slim fit too which suits me
Only -ve thing is the e-mails, although today's states free delivery for the next few days of their sale with many items less than £20 / Shirt, (so may be a better option than the high street).

With you all the way, but those 'ralph, animal, ben s' (as you put them!) items are often available elsewhere quite a lot cheaper.

Find a good tailor. Much much better in the long run. (Note: Not applicable if you are in the habit of ripping/burning/spilling things down clothes.)

Agree with this I'm 6'3" and the TM shirts fit me quite well. There is always some sort of deal on, 4 for £100 is the norm. I bought some a few months ago, searched for a discount code and ended up getting 4 for £80!! The slim-fit ones are a pretty good fit as well.

John Lewis shirts are pretty good. I'm the same height as you and never thought much to Lewins and alike. They make shirts for people who've had too many lunches, not exactly slim fit!

Have you tried the M&S two inches longer or the Debenhams (Spelling, can't be arsed to check...) version of the same, I think Charles Tyrwhitt are the best I've found for me but some of the M&S ones are great.

I'm not that tall but do seem to have long arms and get really pissed off with most shirts.

As long as you don't mind paying through the nose.
Look about at department stores, some of them do do longer sleeves for the taller man.
