Hi all.

I've had my bike up for sale on a well known website for a few days and i've had a near on zero response.

What am i doing wrong confused ?

The spec is;


Frame: Orange 223 17'' WHITE.
Shock: 5th Element.
Forks: Marzocchi 888RC2X-like new. WHITE.
Cranks: Shimano Saint
Chain device: MRP World Cup 1 (i think) BLACK.
Wheels: Hope Big Un's on EX721s. Big Un's are GOLD.
Brakes: Hope Mono 6ti's. 205MM front/185MM back. Floating disks supplied as well as 5 bolt rotors.
Pedals: Azonic Accelerator - SILVER
Stem: Truvativ
Bars: EA70 Monkey Bars with GOLD hope bar ends.
Grips: RaceFace Lock'on.
Headset: FSA Pig DH
Shifter / Rear mech: Shimano XT
Chain: Sram
Cassette: Don't know.
Seat: DMR.
Seat post: FSA
Seat clamp: Hope - BLACK
Tyres: Maxxis Minnion F+R. SuperTacky Dual Ply 2.7".

And the price is £1500.

Does it have DONTBUYME written all over it?! I don't know what im doing wrong frown

Mods, im not trying to sell it via PH forums. I genuinely would like some help on this. Thanks.

You've hit the key DH problem. They cost the earth to build and because they're unusable for anything other than uplift days (or people get bored of them v quickly) they don't sell for that much.

Having said all that, it's got a lot of choice bits on it, although now a few years out of date. I'd maybe break and sell separately TBH.

Too expensive unfortunately.

There have been a few decent spec 224's going for less than that, not to mention the geometry on the 223 was 'interesting' so perhaps isn't greatly popular.

I would have thought that was about £1000 at a push now.

Agreed it's too expensive; that's an £800-900 bike as it stands. Split it.
