...any good?

I believe they use the South West circuit - 2.75 hours for £119.

I have and it was quite enjoyable.

Not too many cars, open pit lane, more than enough track time (used up a full tank of fuel in my Z4 which is about 120 miles on the track), good value for money.

I'll be there this Friday.

Think I might join you if I can get the afternoon off.

Any idea if they have any instructors around?

Ok, booked!

The online booking has finished, but there are still a few spaces available over the phone it seems.

I'll be the numpty teetering round in the blue Caterham. Finally got round to booking some instruction so hopefully that'll improve things somewhat, but it is first time out in the new car. God knows how I'm going to hear them though with the windnoise and a full face helmet! smile

Great, see you there! I'll be the one teetering round in the R26. It's not new, so I can't use that excuse... biggrin

Any chance of a ride? I'd love a Caterham!

Definitely - come over and say hi (mine's an ex-racer so you can spot it by the 'lived in' look in case there are a couple). Only got it last week and I'm already a convert. biggrin

Yes, they are excellent events with a good mix of road cars. I'm there on Friday in my Lotus Europa

I'll be there too in my Black & White Exige S1. Bedford is pretty strict on noise and I know my car is marginal on drive-by so you;ll probably find me looking glum in the pitlane having forgotten to short-shift....again frown

See you all there .... black TVR Sagaris. For obvious reasons, I'm a little concerned about the noise level check as well (car is standard but it might already be too loud .... ) .... fingers crossed

Mine passes the drive-by and static normally, but it pops on the gearchange or overrun. Normally there are monitors between turn 1 and 2 and about a third of the way along the straight that runs behind the pits. Look out for them on your first out-lap! I have to time gearchanges to avoid this.

I've instructed in a caterham without an intercom. It's fine the use of hand signals will be used a lot but you will be fine fella. Have fun

bow Any chance of a ride mister?

I can understand you being apprehensive about noise. At the last track day I went to only one TVR legitimately passed the noise test. Everbody was bolting additional silencers on left, right and centre.

I'm slightly worried about the Seven even - part of the reason I bought it (having come from an older TVR) was I thought it'd get through the noise test everywhere, but the induction noise is pretty demonic when it gets going. evil

ETA: Is there somewhere reasonably safe to leave a few bits'n'bobs at Bedford? Is there a good chance of getting a garage for example?

There is a large shared garage area in the pit lane so should be no probs.

Hmm. Just spoke to my insurance company - I forgot you need 24 hours to schedule track cover! Can everyone please give the blue Seven a wide berth. hehe

Only another hour or so in the office...

A great evening. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bedford is a great venue, and the numbers were just right to avoid traffic and crowding.
