From where can I get some of these little stinkers? Preferably black.

I have a wonderful dessert recipe using truffled honey, Gorgonzola and toasted sourdough.

You can get them online.

Harrods stock them, as do Fortnums.

Your local nice department store might as well, if they have a food hall.

Season will be later this year- starting late September- October for black Perigord ones and white Piedmont ones even later October to early November
Internet buy can be a bit iffy because they cost dear (black 400 pounds/kilo, white over 1000 pounds per kilo) and freshness is utmost priority
A compromise can be buying truffle oil or truffle butter but you want the real thing...
The big names could help i.e. Harrods or Fortnum and Mason if you are in London
If you have a good Restaurant close buy (who serve truffles) the chef my add you to his orderings
if you want to combine purchase with a nice holiday/drive go to alba
When:
Oct - Nov 2009 (annual)
Where:
Centro Storico
Cost:
Free to visit
Opening Hours:
Truffle Market 9am-8pm
and have a nice blast over the alps...

Truffles you get now are usually summer truffles that are cheaper (relatively) and less aromatic (still good for nice pasta/risotto)
Enjoy

The honey is more of an essence you can get either white or black, however we also have black truffles in jar, whole or peelings. Today we did have some Fresh Summer Truffles in also.
