Great article
I have added it to the other really great 'S' related articles in recent Sprints - forming quite a list of 'things I'd like to have a go at' now
All I need now is to find a bigger space than my garage & I may feel confident enough to tackle a full 'body off' - although the idea of taking an engine out completely still fills me with dread!!!
Cheers

Did mine in a small single garage - stored the body on dollies and under a car cover so I could wheel it around outside on the drive and stored the bonnet on the decking at the end of the garden (although learnt a lesson here - garden pool cover left marks that required polishing out afterwards so use a proper car cover!!!!!!)

Label everything as you go along using white parcel tape (that you can write on with permanent marker) and it really is not that difficult.
Good luck

Good tip regarding the body & dollies - but where do you put the engine, seats, etc??
And how do you get the body off in the first place in a single garage
I have an option on sharing a unit which would give me the space - but this would be £100 a month before I even started...and I still have the issue of 'not knowing what the hell I'm doing'...
Being a simpleton when it comes to mechanics of this magnetude I really am quite scared
- I'm thinking of asking the new TVR Selby garage (as this is nearest specialist to me) for a quote on their body-off restoration costs - I know it won't be cheap, or as much 'fun' but I thought I would way up the pros/cons.
Cheers

Most interior stuff can go back in the body until you put it back together. I didn't remove the engine as I kept a rolling chassis throughout, but would have used shed if necessary. For how body came off see my website its all on there www.gbsportscar.com

Its a bit tight but I have done mine in a single garage by raising the body up on timber bearers (side to side, front and back) resting on 215mm wide concrete blocks built up each side of the car. I jacked the front bearer up 1 block height then moved to the back and so on. Once raised up the chassis rolls in and out under the body taking up the same space. The Bonnet is stored elsewhere. As I said it's tight and not ideal but it can be done.

Thanks chaps - I have book marked this string to refer back to later in the year - plan is to start the 'project' this winter
For now - on with the Sprint season (next one Curborough at the weekend) & getting out in the car whenever the bright yellow thingy appears in the sky
