Need to replace the tyres on a series one 350i.
The TVR booklet that came with the car say's 205/60 x 15
The S/H bible say's 205/50 x 15
Contacted RT today and he recommended 205/55 x 15.

I'd like to go with the 205/55's as I can get Toyo T1R's to fit and they have a lot of good reviews.

Being a bit sad I want the car to look and sit right. The diff in rolling radius is about 10mm. Used www.carbibles.com tyre guide, got a good tyre calculator on page two.

Has anyone fitted 205/55 x 15's and got any photo's, any regrets ?

Regards, BBT.

225/55-15 on my rears, 215/60-15 on the fronts. The 225/55 are like rocking-horse dung now.

I've got 205/55 VR15s on mine (see pic on my profile). As it's a V6 the originals were 205/60 VR14, hence I dropped to 55 ratio when upspeccing the wheels to 15s. The original size for the V8 350i models was 205/60 15, gradually getting bigger for the 390 and 420.

Does that help?

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

JMK, yep does help, had a look at your car and it looks / sits fine and they fill the arches.

If I want to keep the same rolling radius I need to go to 225/55 x 15

... so I guess I've still not made my mind up. Got a few days before the wheels come back so will continue to get frustrated until I've made a decision.

Thanks,
BBT.

As I said, you may struggle to find 225/55-15. Two suppliers I tried said none of their price lists had them on.

Did look for 225/55 x 15's but couldn't find any, went for 205/55 x 15 T1R's in the end.
Will keep my eyes open for a set of 16 inch lattice wheels for the future.

BBT.
