G'Day All...

I am just posting up my lastest dyno charts for all to see. I wouldn't mind getting some feedback on the results, etc. I know what I am looking at (the basics), but if anyone can offer in depth feedback on the graphs and their interpretation or professional opinion of them, that would be good.

The specification of my drive-train is as follows: -

6.0 LS2
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Harrop H112 Supercharger Kit
6PSi Supercharger Pulley
Harrop Intercooler Kit
High Flow Air Intake
Magnecor 8.5mm Red Ignition Leads
Wortec Stainless Exhaust Headers
Wortec Stainless Sports CATS
Wortec Stainless Switchable CAT Back Exhaust System

The Dyno Charts show a direct comparison between two maps.

The first being the map that came with the car when I bought it - to suit all of the above modifications - Wortec Map.
Exact Figures: -
Flywheel BHP – 542.3
Wheel BHP – 432.7
Torque Ft Lbs – 554.2

I chose to have it remapped after being given some professional advice.

The second being the new map that I have just had done to the car - to suit all of the above modifications - Rapid GB Map.
Exact Figures: -
Flywheel BHP – 608.0
Wheel BHP – 479.9
Torque Ft Lbs – 584.5

Graphs shown below: -

Thanks!

Yeah, well dome mate, thats better than my car was with a 122 @12psi, and I had to have an upgraded clutch to take the power, and it still slipped.

Managed a 12.6@117 though.

Unusual to see a std geared `ro` run in 3rd gear on a DD.

If the top graph is a `before` its interesting that its actually producing 70ish more HP than as advertised by Wortec, if you look at similar spec cars from the last Dyno day you`ll see that also seem`s the case.

I`m assuming the torque is fly overlaid aginst Wheel?

I always thought you were supposed to use 4th gear for the 1:1 ratio but a dyno operator up here told me that for my car he'd have to run it in third as the manufacturer reckoned the more over 100mph you go on the dyno the greater the inaccuracies were likely to be on their rolling roads. In theory he explained you should be able to do it in 1st gear and still get a decent reading. No doubt someone will be along to disprove or confirm this statement just shortly.

True, but at those revs in 3rd with a 3.46 diff he aint hit 100, ask the boys on the drag strip who are pulling very low 100`s about having to change into 4th just before the line

I thought the dyno needed to see 100 with a suitable ramp rate, once again could be wrong!!!!!

At the drag day just gone at Shakey's last Saturday. My speed over the line ranged between 108-111mph. On every run, I had to change into 4th gear well before the 1/4mile finish line - and that was almost red lining every gear before hand - 1st, 2nd, 3rd...

I am assuming that my Ro' is geared like a standard VXR... ?!?

It is definitely running OEM clutch. Mark wanted to leave the pressure on the H112 at 6PSi, rather than increase to 9PSi+... as at present the OEM clutch can just about handle these figures produced at 6PSi. It wouldn't stand a chance at handling figures produced on this setup at 9PSi+ - and I would need an uprated one.

All graphs show a direct comparison between the readings of both maps/runs.

Top graph shows comparison between maps for torque and wheel power.
Middle graph shows comparison between maps for wheel power and air/fuel ratio.
Bottom graph shows comparion between maps for torque and flywheel power.

Green lines are for Wortec map.
Red lines are for Rapid GB map.

Wortec Map.
Exact Figures: -
Flywheel BHP – 542.3
Wheel BHP – 432.7
Torque Ft Lbs – 554.2

Rapid GB Map.
Exact Figures: -
Flywheel BHP – 608.0
Wheel BHP – 479.9
Torque Ft Lbs – 584.5

Make more sense?

Yeah, thanks for that it does now.

Re gearing you would have been shifting up to 4th at about 100 (slightly less) so at 110 you`d be well into 4th as you say

I would be interested in getting as much feedback on the charts and figures as possible.

It may also be good to get the Flywheel BHP, Wheel BHP and Torque Ft Lbs figures (or graphs) from you guys out there/on here running a Supercharged LS2 (or LS1, LS3) - H112, H122, etc.

I dont think theres anyone out there making anything near what your making with a 112.

Mines a 122 but with cam and forged pistons and thats made 706bhp on the engine dyno and just under 550rwhp at surrey.

Roger (S600 VRX) has a simular build to mine without the engine mods and is just around the 600bhp mark

122 SC @12psi, full system etc but stock internals and Im 635hp - 505RWHP which seems good anyhow! Obviously something special in yrs to make what it is.

Sorry mate, new it was somewhere round that mark. Kyle, you sure your engine is standard, no cam etc?

I have only had the car since near to the start of this year.
I have looked into its' history as much as I can do and as far as I am aware it is definitely running standard block internals, camshaft, heads, transmission, clutch and diff.

Most of the history lies with Monkfish and the previous owners. It has only started going to Rapid GB under my ownership.

Disregarding the Rapid GB map figures for now, which are very good.
Looking at the Wortec (green curves) graphs and figures - is that what you would expect from my vehicle's specification? Or is that still better than the normal expectations?

Now, the jump/hike in output figures between the two maps (running the same specification) must be down to the mapping only. No other parts - apart from the Magnecor Ignition Leads were added between maps.

You can see from the graph showing the comparison of the Air/Fuel Ratio plots of the two maps: that Rapid GB (red curves) have made alot of changes in this area - making the AFR more ideal all the way through the rev range? Am I right in thinking that the Wortec map seemed to be running rich all the way through the rev range - so down on power possibly?

looking at graphs its interesting to see that the Wortec map makes peak power around 5550rpm then starts to drop off quite quickly up to the redline. Its really from that point on that you are seeing the most benefit between the maps as the RapidGB map continues to climb slightly to peak further up the rev range and is a much flatter curve to the red line. Gains do start earlier but it really opens higher up the range, I'd imagine this is easier to map correctly using a rolling road than live mapping on the road as its easier to hold the car at high rpm on the rolling road than the public highway. As you commented Mark has also smoothed out the AFR to keep it more consistent and at a higher level but there is a still a dip low down before it settles - any idea what is happening at that point? You sure Mark hasnt disabled or removed the MAF sensor as part of the mapping process as its one area some decent gains can be made if you're prepared to put in the effort to sort the map out manually?

Either way its a fantastic set of results you've achieved, sure a lot of folk would be happy with the results even before your remap. Does the car feel noticably different since the work was done?

Hi... yes, some very good points there. Gains definitely do start earlier as you said. She seems to drive, run and fuel much better all the way through the rev range and under all driving conditions and circumstances.

I also see what you are saying about the majority of the additonal power that i'm seeing - with it coming in after the 5500rpm mark - whereas on the Wortec map it basically dies a death. This makes sense, as on Saturday at the drag day, she literally felt like she was pulling like a train all the way to the red-line in each gear - whereas before you could feel her go flat long before the red.

I understand what you are saying with regards to why it could be mapped that way - dyno Vs public high-way mapping. Makes a great deal of sense - and backs it all up.

AFR has been smoothed out a great deal. I see what you mean about the dip low down before it settles out. Not sure what this is, I will ask the question.

I am pretty sure that Mark hasn't disabled or removed the MAF sensor. There was no talk of this, and cannot see him doing so without asking my thoughts first. If this is the case, then there may be additional gains to be had by going down the MAF-less route and tweaking the map?

In all, the car feels great and drives immensely. Such a difference. More power. More torque. More driveability. And better fuel consumption. Those are the improvements I have noted so far.

What are your thoughts on the figures? Achievable in theory? As some people seem rather suprised at the magnitude of my results when compared with vehicle specification.

Looks like a worthwhile gain when you compare it to the old Wortec tune. You must be chuffed.

Its a Rapid GB special figure, comes complete with inflation rate busting performance figures. AFR is on the very limit of safe for FI too

Please don't be rude about other people's work chaps. Just because you may have used EFI live a few times it doesn't make you experts.
