Anyone got a recomendation of somewhere to go around late october, maybe early november time in northern Europe
done some looking, but cant really decide anywhere, wanted to do Russia, but at £1000 or so thats a no go, looked at Norway, can go to Bergen fly there for about £90 but teh hotels arent the cheapest minimum of £65 per night, I am far to cheap to pay that

Anyone been, or got any recomendations? Not long back from France, and I hate this country so want to go away again laugh

If you are on a budget then forget Norway, bar bill last Thursday night was well over £100, for two people......Beer only!

How about £5 for a Starbucks......Life as a Monk would be expensive in Norway. Why don't you try Estonia or Latvia.

Ok this is of limited help given the lack of detail,

I Can't find where I saw it but I am sure there was a company offering free internal flights around Norway, you basically paid your trip over & back and could hop on a plane when you fancied it over there.

It's a place I've always fancied and I thought that was a great idea. I did look at the website and it was not expensive at all for the inital ticket.

I was just pointing out how expensive Norway is, items such as Starbucks, McDonalds (no I don't eat there), Beer and Fags are a good judge of currency/cost of living in various countries. If I said that a the local speciality seafood dish was £54 that might not mean a whole lot to most people. You mentioned that you are on a budget and that hotels seemed expensive....Norway may not be the place for you.
PS. I only go on business so I am not worried about the prices, I would not go there on my own dime.

Expenses you say, for the government laugh

Hmmmmm, £54 for food, I will heed your warning and scrub that one of the list

and before any suggestions, I have done Bruge and Amsterdam does not interest me

Why go to Northern Europe at that time of year?
It's likely to be cold wet and miserable and the days will be short.
Is it just 'cos it's likely to be cheap?
What are you looking for, a short city break or some sort of activity holiday?

I have always liked northern Europe over southern Europe, would love to see the Fjords, glaciers the culture, short days, cold and wet doesnt bother me, I live in Wales and have spent time in Shetland similar lattitude to norway. Want to go somewhere different.
Spain, Italy, Carnarie islands, Santander, Turkey, Greece etc dont really interest me, want somewhere different.

However I have found a good deal on Sham el sheikh, might give that a go
