My sis has been offered a V plate Focus 1.6 petrol, which by the sounds of it is in good nick, with a full Ford service history and some recent parts replaced (clutch, pads). Reasonable spec including alloys, aircon, CD changer etc.

It has done 80k which seems OK for the age, and they want about £1500

Aside from normal used car watchpoints, is there anything specific to the Focus to look out for - I figure not, and it has lots of history - but thought this would be the place to ask.

Make sure the cambelt & tensioners have been replaced. If not, haggle on the price to take that into account as will be due soon.

Cambelt is 10 years/100k miles.

Picked up a 2000 'x' 2.0 Ghia Estate with 83k on it recently for £1500. Very pleased with it although think the discs are warped slightly.
