my first DSLR pics
Discussion
I took my new purchase to Kemble and Silverstone this weekend, to play and get to know it ready for RIAT.
Getting far to confident I tried to get arty, and capture the heat waver from the jet exhaust. the pic was taken I think at 1/250, and as expected din't come out to great. so thought I'd post it up on here for comments and advice ...

Also when taking msport pictures on the sunday .. practising my panning I found that no matter how hard I tried, the car was never quite in focus, and again what sort of general rules of thumb for msport pics ?

Try starting out with the camera on A.
I have a C-AF setting that works for me.
IMO a picture needs to show some movement otherwise the car looks dead.
Compare:

I don't mind this being a bit off: 1/125 and f4

Not much happening here: 1/1000 and f5,6
My fav shuttertimes are between 1/60 and 1/125:

You need to practise alot though. For me one out of two pictures is OK. Next Spa6 I'll lock my shutter at 1/125 and cross my fingers.
Keep up the good work mate!
