Not really, one day he will be King and chosen barristers will become the King's Counsel (KCs) so it's all relevant as part of the Crown Court.

Soovy might be funny on this topic. But, in the recent scheme of things education related, this is nothing!

It was also given to him by the Barristers of the Middle Temple in London who would be the ones who might feel devalued. Not some liberal Polytechnic or University.

Also it sounds just like the title of honorary Barrister, not a Law degree.

His is an honorary title... it means nothing.

Sure in 'theory' he could use it, but lets be practical - it's not going to happen.

But let's be honest here, it would be amusing if he started turning up to court in a Lionel Hutz sort of way hehe

Formal forms of address between him and the judge would indeed be amusing.

May it please My Lord...
It doesn't, do you actually have any relevant questions? : pause: Your Royal Highness :sarcastic:

They made him a Knight as well - and he didn't even kill a dragon or anything! Surely this...etc.

Why would you do the LPC if you wanted to be a barrister?

you wouldn't, and I don't....but you get the gist. I had other friends that went on to do the BVC and I think it cost them circa 13K

Surely you didn't pay your own LPC fees?

Is it not just the same as the people who get honorary doctorates from Universities like JC etc?

It does not make him a barrister but an 'honorary' Barrister. He can't I would have thought practice.

Would it mean that he now has the right of audience?

As King he would probably have that anyway, but just wondering on the situation.

No because he doesn't have a practice certificate. Got to complete pupillage for that.

ETA As a barrister that is, probably not so much as King.
