Help battery light flickers on and off at night

hi can you help battery light flickers on and off at night
dose any one know what corses this

As you say its at night, does it just come on solid or is it feint. I'm thinking current draw from your Alarm and Tracker. I have a solar panel on the P/Side dash that connects via a Power Socket to trickle top up the battery during daylight for the alarm and tracker drain. May not be related, just a thought.

This is a Noble? I would've thought it does have a tracker fitted.
Funnily enough I've started getting battery light flickerings recently too but the car has no trouble starting and appears to be running well.

Shar's does this as well, thought it was normal on a Noble. Would be worried if it was the oil light tho!

I've not had it happen before and I've had mine three years now. Oil light yes, LOL! Would be pooing myself I think .

You might want to check the alternator wiring. There's a 3-wire connector on the alternator, with another single-wire connector above it. On the US wiring harnesses (may be the same on the UK harnesses), the wire connector used to attach to the single-wire connector on the alternator isn't the correct one - it's just a tab-style quick disconnect shoved onto the pin on the alternator. So, it's prone to corrosion and loosening over time.

I'd also check the alternator wiring for heat damage. Make sure the wire insulation isn't hard and brittle, or any part of it looks melted or charred. Seems to be a common problem on the US cars...

can you check the voltage to the battery when it happens

the rectifier on the battery may be faulty

I can't check the voltage no. Not capable enough
It did sit out in pouring rain yesterday for a bit.
Wondering if water is the culprit. The issue seems to appear then go again for a while but was particularly bad when I parked up last night.

Think you might have pointed me in the right direction. Popped open one of the wiring connectors and found some dust/dirt inside. Cleaned it up a bit along with the live battery terminal and it's stopped flickering.
