I have been offered a wonderful deal by my lady:
She gets some jewellery, and I get a nice ‘dress’ watch. She has already said no to a B&R 97 (not dressy enough). My favourite complication is the power reserve, so you might see a theme here. Also, (flay me for this), but I just don’t ‘get’ Pateks or Rolexes – they just don’t do it for me.
So, these are the ones I’m thinking of – can anyone add any others I might have forgotten?
N.B. Sinn and Stowa and Omega (despite this being PH), do not make the list.
Zenith:
El Primo open.
Pros: El Primo movement, classic looks with semi-skeleton.
Cons: Bit chunky?

Panerai
Panerai PAM 90 Luminor Power Reserve 44mm K Series:
Pros: Iconic design
Cons: Majorly overpriced, not a dress watch?

A.Lange & Sohne
???
What others are there? I know I’m missing some (and I will really kick myself).
Cheers!

That Zenith looks about 20mm thick, ginormous, but if you like it that's all that matters how about this for an unusual watch

£5K for a watch plus £5K for jewellery. Are you paying? If so, I'm wondering what sort of a good deal you have!!!!!
Seriously, this is a nice situation to be in. I'd be tempted to take my time, spend a while window shopping, browsing the interweb and wading through books such as this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wristwatch-Annual-2009-Pro... (I have the 2008, 2004 and 1999 editions).
I think I'd probably find myself looking at something like Franck Muller, JLC, or GO. Patek and Lange might just be over budget but you never know. The Zeniths above look great - in fact finding a vintage Zenith might just be the answer..

+1Perfect watch. Also look at the JLC's. The compresser geographic is rather special but no power reserve.
If you're thinking pam, then I would not look at any with the ETA (cheap) movements of recent years. They are currently implementing a big change over to their own "in-house" movements which is going a long way to justifying their high prices.
May I suggest the new pam 320 which had the stunningly simple "classic" panny face, AND a nifty power reserve feature on the back. You'll have to get your name down though at an AD.
