What Route shall we take.

The goodlady and myself are picking her Tamora up in a few days time and were looking for a good route to take for a short weekend break. Leaving Hexham and eventually coming back to Wakefield.
Don't mind heading north on the first day perhaps Jeburgh etc but only can be away for a couple of days.....any suggestions of some top driving roads

Jedburgh is a good shout - not sure about your timings, but if you head over to the M74 and then cut up through the borders and to Jedburgh, then the scenery is stunning and the driving roads are sensational. Gets my vote
