New Esprit by end of 2005

I hope the 12-15-03 issue of AutoWeek is correct. They said by the end of 2005 the new Esprit replacement will be shown. That is atleast a year earlier than previous reports. Hopefully the time between "shown" and "on sale" will be short.

Best not to get your hopes up.

If Lotus was an company of stable means, then, like any other manufacturer, the date would be taken as serious.

But remember, every new launch is a balancing act of faith and finance.

They are trying, I'll give them that, but for everyone's sake I hope they take their time and get it right, rather than rush and disappoint - even if that means 2007.

After all, we have a perfectly good Esprit at reasonable money and wide variety already out there.
Should keep us happy until the new one arrives.
