Anyone been?

Need a lunch venue on the 25th July for 4 or 5 people near the A1 Stamford area. I know this place has a star but looking for any input on alternatives.

I've eaten at the Olive alot over the last 5 or so years. I've always been very impressed. Never had a bad meal.

Very very occasionally service can suffer, but the food has always delivered.
I'd strongly recommend it.

Their sister pub, The Red Lion in Stathern (further north though) is very good too and in fact for me, currently edges the Olive - it's also usually easier to get into. I'm at the Red on Friday

I've booked Sunday lunch for the 25th. I wanted somewhere close to the A1 and I'm not keen in going much further north than that as it's way above the mid point anyway!
