No seriously.

Is there anything I can put on it (apart from dirt) to dull it down a bit.

If I clay it and then don't wax it will this work?

What makes you think it is too shiny?

A few cans of Halfrauds Matt Black paint should do the trick.....

start washing it with a cheap sponge, one bucket and dry with a combo of water blade and chamois. certain way to wreck the paint and dull it down through a mass of swirls lol. paintowrk is never too shiny! biggrin

When you describe too shiny makes it looks like cheap paint, I agree that it was not good. I'd prefer paint looks shine naturally, despite it had got repainted natural looks give impression of original.

I've been noticing these matt finish cars lately. Thats a great looking Aston Martin.

Did anyone else spot that gorgeous matt blue Ruff CTR3 at Goodwood FOS?

Where you type your reply it should say 'Upload an image (beta)' just above. Clicking this is the simplest way.

The other way is to quote me and try work it out.. wink

The best way I find to upload pics is to host them with something like photobucket www.photobucket.com then copy and past the line under the image that has the [img] [/img] tags at either end. This way you can then post the pics on any thread on any forum / website.

hth,

Matt.

I saw the matt finish for the first time yesterday on this BMW. What's the attraction? I prefer a shiny car.

I'm pretty sure the matt black cars in this thread are actully wrapped, not painted, which is a good idea if you get bored of the matt black look, just peel the sticker off! lol.
I'll get the website add up later.

Man, that is a lot of vinyl if you are right!!

ETA- OP, just take your car to an automated car wash a few times - Viola!

I too think a car can never be too shiney. A classic car done with 2k lacquer is wrong IMO, but a new car... give it some time, it'll flatten down smile

I suspect Wrighty is right (no pun intended!).

There was a show about it on Discovery Turbo a few weeks ago, where they wrapped a Lotus Exige in the Union Jack flag. They said for an averaged sized hatchback (Think Audi A3 kinda size), it would cost around £1800 labour included, for a relatively simple design. The wrap last's anywhere between 6-9 months apparently.

I would'nt bother getting my car wrapped. I would hate it if i had a white design, and opened the door/boot/bonnet to be greeted with blue!
