rumbling brakes - a6
Discussion
hello all,
just got back and the brakes on the A6 are making what I can only describe as a rumbling/grumbling sound when they are applied. Having both windows down it sounds slightly metallic as is if something is dragging on the discs.
It only makes this noise when they are applied. There is no change in the performance of the braking either
The discs/pads were replaced around 12k miles/1 year ago.
If it makes any difference they tyres and track rod ends were replaced a couple of weeks ago as well.
Any ideas before I call the garage tomorrow morning?
Thanks all.

Just a guess, but maybe theres a little bit of dirt caught inbetween the pad and the disc, try giving it a good wash? My car did this a few days back but it stopped within a few minutes.
cheers, that is what I thought first. Last weekend it was parked on a dusty and stony car park so perhaps a bit of grit has got in like you say.Thanks.
