While I am waiting for my Racepak forum to be activated I thought I would see if anyone here has any useful information.

I have got my hands on a Racepak 4000 with a view to seeing if it will be useful on our new car. As far as I can tell it is a 4000S (http://www.racepak.com/4000.php) dating from circa. 1990 and so in general times is obsolete but should still be usable. Does anyone here have experience running one and if so do they have any tips and tricks? It doesn't appear to have EGT support (this was only on some models) and as far as I can tell from the module also lacks the external units for attaching transducers (pressure etc).

If anyone should have these parts kicking around and not need them let me know!

Do you have the analogue boxes, as they are required to make any pressure channel work? If I remember this system works with the toilet roll (dot matrix roll printer) You can e mail todd@racepak.com with questions. He deals with the pro systems but he can forward to the correct person.

Cheers all for the answers.

It has the printers but also a data transfer cartridge to download to a PC, I need to try that out. As far as I can tell the analogue boxes simply allow the wiring to connect in the right place but I shall see what I can find out.

Am I right in thinking that Graham Balchin was the Graham involved in Revstore systems? I had good experience with that 10 years ago and I can see the similarities in the Racepak. If you have contact details for the people mentioned could you email me on martin [at] motorpsycho [dot] co [dot] uk

Bob - I have emailed Todd as suggested, will see what comes back.
