Gapping twin-electrode spark plugs
Discussion
Chaps,
Quick one - I recently changed the plugs on the VX due to water ingress knackering the last lot. Got some new NGKs from Halfrauds which are supposedly correct for the Z20LET, and now it idles poorly. Drives fine but the idle is all over the shop really. The sparks are NGK-R twin-electrode jobbies. Checking the gap last night, looks like they're set at 0.45mm or thereabouts when the VX needs a gap of 0.7mm.
Now, I've gapped single-electrode sparks before but I'm a little hesitant about the twins, as in what happens if the gap is not exactly the same on both?
If I can't manage it I'll probably return them and go for some Iridiums like last time.

Sounds like a plan, might even be worth giving NGK a ring before you purchase, especially if you've done any mods, take the monkey out the middle. Let us know what part number they suggest I might even be able to get you them a little cheaper
Hi Matt, sorry to dig this up but I've got the part number from NGK for the Iridium IX plug: BKR6EIX. I don't know if that's any good to you?
