Low oil pressure on my Megablade

6 months after completing my track only megablade and with two successful track days under its belt my megablade is suffering from low oil pressure. I am thinking check release valve, oil pump intake and then clutch out and test oil pump. If those don't make a difference then rebuild...anyone have any other ideas?? Engine runs very smooth and pressure only drops once it is hot. It does have a baffle plate fitted...
If I do need a rebuild or decide to source a replacement engine any guidance on cost and vendors would be highly appreciated.

i couldn;t recommend AB Performance enough... and his knowledge of the fireblade engine is unmatched in my opinion...
He has built and rebuilt more of these motors than most - for teh RGB race series and many kits on the road & track..

What version blade have you got?? Maybe i am a skinflint, but the attraction of a BEC is IF the engine does fail (and if yours has you are just unlucky) then £500 and 4 hours work will have your new engine in and running. Andy Bates is very good at building engines, but i would just get another low-mileage one from a breakers. You will not find much extra power without lots of money, at those Japanese blokes on the assembly line sure do make good strong engines from standard. My mate won the RGB championship, his first Fury Fireblade did over 2 seasons of testing and racing before the gearbox broke on his £1,000 engine.
whether you use andy for a rebuild - or a replacement engine.. you can be sure it does what it says on the tin... and for a while !! he only buys and sells on low milage engines, and also gives them a proper health check and stands over them... for me i'd rather pay a few extra quid for that then go to the ball ache of fitting an unknown engine from e-bay in, to later discpver a worn gearbox... or oil leaks everywhere...

Thanks for the advice all. The blade engine in my car is a 1996 carb 919cc. The car itself is a narrow body 1992 Westfield that has been converted to take a BE. I've just replaced the crank angle sensor as that went and checked the oil psi which was very low - this first happened on a track day a month ago. Took the baffle plate off and checked the oil pressure release valve which was fine followed by the oil intake which unfortunately appears to be full of ball bearing debris. I have not checked the oil pump but Honda dealer has told me that he hasn't seen one of these fail. I guess to go the whole hog I could replace the oil pump but those are near £200. I am sketchy on the engine history so probably just unlucky as I know the blade engines are usually bulletproof. Fairly relaxed about it - just want my toy back on track!

Try Malc at Yorkshire engines, nothing wrong with Andy of AB though, both give an excellent service and have never heard anything but good reports about both of them.
