Im changing all the suspension over the winter months and want to pick a few brains before parting with the hard earned stuff.

Who is the best supplier to buy springs off? I think I remember reading a few threads about certain suppliers springs making a wedge resemble a monster truck for ground clearance

I want uprated springs but dont want to compromise the ride hight, new Avo's all round so the rears will be ride height adjustable.

Cheers
Andy

RT Racing 01142817507 list standard, heavy duty and competition front & rear springs all at £24.95 + vat shot blasted, and powder coated red.
These are standard ride height, Says in current catalogue to ring for altered ride height and other suspension options.
Hope this is some use.

Andy,
I ordered a set of rear springs from RT today. I will let you know what they are like when I get them, I went for the uprated ones. Ordered the new 'A' frame bolt kit also, the bolts were about £20 a side.

Thanks Gareth,

Bolts are another thing on the list so maybe I will get everything together from RT. Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Andy.

Andy,
Got them today, I think they are superb.
I went for the 350i uprated ones (wa126) and they are slightly shorter than the ones I have removed at 12 inches tall as compared to 13.75 inches for the ones that came off. This isn't a problem with the ride height adjuatable shocks and may be a charecteristic of the uprated springs anyway (or it may be the old springs on mine are different to others).
They come with a red powder coated finish.
The bolt kit is great value as it includes all the bolts, nuts and washers for the 'A' frame and the tie bar. You will almost certianly need these as the old ones will not come off without a fight if my experience is anything to go by.
Really good efficient and friendly service from RT to boot!
Total was about £125 for both sides inc postage and vat which I think was very good.
Good luck,
Gareth.

The heavy duty springs are shorter - I thought I had been sent the wrong ones initially

Thanks a lot Gareth, looks like I will be getting them from RT then, sounds like a good buy. Interesting about the spring length do you know what pound rating they are compared to the standard ones?

Hope you get them all fitted ok, let me know if you encounter any problems!

Cheers,

Andy

Uprated springs at first always look smaller in height. But when the car's weight is applied it should be fine, because standard springs "compact" a bit more with the same weight.
Have the same uprated ones and it resulted in the same ride height.

So if there is a problem you find it out too late, like after you have done all the work.
