. . the old girl went to her new home today. She looked absolutely magnificent as she went off - strange, never seen her from that angle before - my god that was a beautiful car. May sound like a wuss but I don't mind admitting both me and the Mrs were in tears as she went.

I know I said I'd made a mistake when I first bought it and it took me a long time to "get it" but that was one spectacular car. I remember Pete the previous owner making a post saying never sell, at the time I thought "what? - you can have it back" All I can say is Pete now, today, I finally know exactly how you felt. A very sad day indeed.

Stu please look after her - I hope it doesn't take you as long as it took me to realise you've got something a bit special there. All the best fella -

....and FFS fly the flag and get as many scalps as you can wink

PS Meant to say used Levens for the first time just before she went and I have to say that, of all 3 different indie experiences, that one was by far the best - Jules and Simon - hope you had a good holiday and thanks for great service.

Thats a shame Smash - I can remember when you first bought it, and a bit later on when you finally "Got it" and really began enjoying the car. You've had some good cars in your time, so keep the good car tradition going, and drop a post on here to let us know what you replaced it with - Good luck mate thumbup

Scott, Cheers for the kind wishes, mate.

Drove from your's to Cambridge to show my ladyfriend, then down to Sawston to show my best mate, then from there back home - got back around midnight! Finally worked out how to start the thing properly (look for MIL light to come on, then I know its 'mobilised').

You are correct, the dash does look great at night - very funky smile

I need to go buy a jack & stands & torque now to try and sort that brake squeel - jesus wept - gets attention for the wrong reason in town biggrin

The thing I love about the cerb is the keyless entry & start. It's such a brilliant system, 10 years in front of the competition really! The other thing that I should perhaps share with you, which you may be miffed with, is I find the car very relaxing to drive :s It's such a nice place to cruise and bumble in, the car has really chills me out - but of course it is important to 'clean the pipes' now and then.... I suspect I'll get more ASBO as I get used to it wink

..oh, and I got my first wave from a Chimera on the road! 1st TVR'd TVR spot.

The brake squeal is likely to be the backs, there's a few options;

copper grease on the pad backs ( might work on some)
Use silicone sealant to glue pads to pistons

Make anti-squeal shims from stainless steel ( the only thing that worked on mine)

Ah-ha!! that's what it was - there was copper slip on the back of the old pads, and I duly coated the backs of the new ones but I did say to Stu that it looked like there was something - well, a bit like glue gun stuff on the back - must've been silicon sealant. bks! first job then Stu wink

So you did it then???

Its been less than a month since I sold mine, and I do miss it but not the fact it used to pull out my spleen every time I accelerated, what speed. I do reackon it was possibly the fastest about.

Then I came into work yesterday in the Tuscan with the roof off and the CCC's popping like crazy, wow.

Take care

350Matt, thanks for the advice. With the silicon, do I just put a smear over the area that the piston will hit?

Smash, That's not the first job, no. That job is buying a jack; I'm starting from first-princples here! Bought myself a nice halfords torque wrench & coppaslip today though biggrin

Oh and one more thing. I only just noticed the PH sticker on the rear screen today. Class biggrin
