Who's Racing in 2004

We have seen reports of who is not racing in 2004, so is there any news on who is racing? and will the Tuscan Challenge still be with the British GT race weekends?

According to TVR Motorsport, absolutely, yes.

IMHO it would not be in TVR's interests for them to be at different venues/dates - as it is they can support both series with one set of trucks, hospitality etc...

We are pleased to confirm Phil Keen will be racing his Tuscan next season fully backed by Racing Green TVR.

We are upgrading the race car and facilities at the tracks to accommodate our sponsors & friends.

Lets hope there is a good grid next year as I think it very exicting racing.

PRESS RELEASE - 17 FEBRUARY 2004

IMR back Holden in TVR



TVR racer Andy Holden has secured backing from Warwickshire based IMR to compete in a full season of the 2004 TVR Tuscan Challenge.

Holden was a newcomer to motor sport in 2003, but immediately took on the challenge of the 450bhp TVR. With the minimum experience required to obtain a National ‘A’ race licence, he contested the final four rounds of the 2003 Tuscan Challenge.

Holden commented: “I had always been in awe of the Tuscan Challenge race cars and many people advised against jumping into the series as a novice. I think that spurred me on even more! 2003 was an excellent start and I learnt a huge amount – three top ten finishes show we have potential to do well in 2004”.

IMR, or International Metal Recyclers Limited, is run by husband and wife team David and Lisa Piper. The couple initially agreed to sponsor Holden for a single round of the 2003 Challenge after meeting at the summer event of performance and sports car website, PistonHeads.com.

David said “We attended the Thruxton round in 2003 and Andy exceeded all expectations by coming home in 9th place in his first finish. We really enjoyed being part of the team - there is nothing quite like the Tuscans in British motor sport and we were hooked! We are delighted to back Andy in the TVR for the 2004 series”.

Holden added “It is tremendous to have the support and backing of IMR. David and Lisa are very enthusiastic and like to get involved as sponsors – but I know that David has some tough targets in mind for 2004. That’s the way I like it!”.

As in 2003, Holden will drive the number 6 car, prepared and supported by Insane Racing’s Steve Howard.
