Hoist and jacking points

Limited space/height in my garage.. and unfortuntely no room for a 2 or 4 post hoist.. however the smaller scissor hoist is a compromise.

In regard to jacking points, I recall having read that jacking up a Griff from the out riggers is not recommended. However as these scissor lifts would support the car along the entire out rigger length, would this be a suitable way to raise the car.?

BTW.. frame has no rust and is structually as new..

problem is.. the tubes sit deaper than the body.. what you don't want to do is lift the car on the GRP.....

No.

The middle of the outriggers has no strength at all, the ends are not very strong either. You really need to pick it up on the central chassis rails.

You could use something like that if you had some sort of cross member on it front and back to pick up the central rails.

You still have to miss the exhaust which means cross members and lifting pads, and the whole thing starts to look rather dodgy. The whole point of these platform lifts is that they're a safe and easy way to lift a monocoque vehicle - not suitable for a TVR chassis though.

I pick mine up using the diff at the rear and the crossmember at the front.

If you use the lift in photo. They come with rubber blocks,, one each end of out riggers no problems with mine,,

Just out of interest, how much are they, how high do they go and how secure are they?

Bought mine for my Firm so its industrial for workshops.. 4.5K inc vat. Its easy to us on almost any car..
I have 2 X 2 post lifts really hard to fit almost any car,,, They do mobile units from about 1000 pounds look really good ,,,
