Now this one deserves serious consideration. A rare one too.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1987-TVR-OTHER-BRITISH-GREEN...

Pictured here at my place, in between Wedg1e's Esprit and my 390SE.

(My FHC 280i under the cover behind).

I remember it being an absolute beauty then, and very unusual. smile

I'd be curious to know how a US spec car ended up RHD. scratchchin

And how does a 1987 model car get a D-reg when my '87's an E?

Is the SEAC dash and RHD a conversion I wonder?

Hi this my car registered in may 87 in the days a new reg came out once a year, it was orded in american spec by a lady in scotland i was told there were only 9 in the UK true or not i dont know. when i bought the car it had huge 16" oz alloys on the back and 15" on the front replaced them when it spat me off on around about, so came with seac dash hydro clutch and all the farings are in the moulding not removable like some and different vented bonnet, and the photo was with graham and wedg1e when graham lived up this neck of the woods, car not been used for 2 years and today went out to start it to pull out of the garage to wash it, i do regulary and it cut out, Ah ran out of fuel got some more and now it wont run at all think it must be a fuel problem blockage of crap somewhere so will have to sort that before some one or if someone buys it

I don't think your fuel rail will self prime once the line is empty. When I changed my fuel pump no amount of cranking would get the engine to catch even though I could hear the pump whirring away. I unhooked the fuel rail inlet hose and tipped the end into a bottle, then I fired up the fuel pump dispelling any air in the fuel line. I reconnected the hose and it fired right up. Give it a try.

At that time, UK registrations ran Spetember 1st - August 31st the next year.
So 'D' plates were issued from 01/09/86 to 31/08/87.

My car was registered 7th September '87 so wears an 'E' like yours... just to confuse the issue mine is not quite a Series 2 390SE as it has the original 'blade' front air dam rather than the 400SE style dam.

I know and can vouch for Steve's 280 being a good example. It's not a conversion, everything's kosher. Seem to remember it was something to do with a woman in the Forces in Germany, but my memory's not what it was...
