Hi all,
can anybody point me in the right direction for a sender for my S2, been out today and got some strange readings on the gauge, jumping around up/down, checked the oil levels - fine , engine running smooth no problems, then checked sender, under the rubber sleeve the threaded connector had undone from top of sender and was hanging on by a thread of wire which then snapped. I remember seeing on here about an after market sender but search is down for me at present.
thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly come time ago someone took apart an oil pressure sender and it was pretty simple inside.
Ian on the basis the sender is now no use I'd have a go at taking it apart to see if you can recover the broken wire.
I've sucessfully repaired hifi tweeters before by carefully taking it apart and removing one turn of the wire coil to reconnect it.
You may have to cut the metal can open to get in it, I'd be tempted to hacksaw a ring around it, then you may be able to connect the two halves back together using a piece of rubber hose & jubilee clips.
I doubt it will be solderable material and weld would probably destroy it with the heat.

Got the new one on, good to see gauge back up to 50. So the old one, had to have a look inside. The inner locknut for terminal had stripped the threads, was barely on anyway due to thick washer on inside, fitted thinner washer and threadlocked back in. Yes Chris an easy repair will solder wire back to inner post, if nowt else i will have a spare but for the sake of £15 for new one deliveredscratchchin. Its a good price as most i saw were neer on £40.

I didn't even bother looking at the old one. Took it off, put by the wall, new one fitted and tested (had to do several drive outs just to be sure). Old one went in the bin.

I still think having the gauge working makes you look at it more.
