Just looking at these, might be interested in one say 3-4 years old.
Never really considered them before so wondered what the main differences between them are and what might be the best buy, any things to be aware of etc.

Hi Steve I have had a couple of st focus's they are great cars, fast but also cumfotable
never had anything go wrong with it, I am now tarding it in for an rs 2009, noting wrong with it just time to upgrade!

If you are talking about the mark 1 rs, its fast but not as refined as the st!

Oh dear. Stop throwing toys around people. OP, if you want info on the Focus ST, head to www.focusstoc.com - it's got all the info you could possibly ever need on there. There's a number of folks who've also owned Mk1 RSs too. If you want RS-specific info on the Mk1, head to http://www.focusrsownersclub.com/ or for info on the Mk2 head to www.focusrsoc.com.

HTH.

both cars are on par with each other in performance but the rs will hold its valve better than the st due to it limited production run,i sold my 5 year old focus rs for £15200 thats 25%loss in 5 years don,t think any st will be worth 75% after 5 years.
ps the st runs a 2.5 volvo engine , rs has a 2.0 ford duratec

if the spelling police were in here now i think they would have you feeling very un-"cumfotable".

ST-3 for me the noise and the feeling of solidity and the very comfortable recaro seats outweigh the rawness for everyday driving for me. i loved the RS but the interior is a bit lame and its getting on a bit now. it will hold its value better though as previously stated.

It really depends what you want. I've recently got a mk1 focus rs, and personally the st doesn't hold a light to it. I'm not all that interested in being comfortable, more being in something that feels special. The st felt heavy and although it has plenty of grip, it didn't communicate it to me. The rs on the other hand was lovely. Fair enough it has a questionable interior, but it drives perfect. You could get a well sorted rs for the price of a volv... St.

Drive both. If you want a cruiser get the st, something fun, special, rare get the rs.
