London's not such a bad place.

My boss drives but does not need a car both tube and buses are 100m away from us.

24 hour city means a pint of milk at 0300 hours - if you need it.

Walk out my back garden and 300m up the road I hit Hyde Park and the Serpentine, lake that is.

Harrods is across the road if you need a cardiac at the prices charged. eek

Greatest car show week on week through the summer while the arab kids are in town with their supercars cruising up and down the Brompton Road (Harrods, V & A Museum etc). Cars that passed over the past few weeks, Tuscan S, Sag 2, All F cars including F40, 288GTO and Enzo, All L cars including matt black wrapped, Porker GT3, Merc SLR, new wide arched SL65 AMG and it goes on and on.

All this costs is £1.50 for a caffiene shot and a seat outside Pret A Manger on a Saturday afternnon - my regular haunt.

Must take the camera.

I went down to the smoke when in my late teens...Carnaby St, King's Road era. hippy

Lived in Cranley Gardens Fulham/Chelsea, Gloucester Rd Kensington and up Holloway road for a while too.

Exciting times then...bit too hectic for me now.

Of course I do have a 24hr Tesco within a half mile of my house, so not too uncivilised, and some of the best scenery and driving roads in the country minutes away. biggrin

If any of you suvvern Wedgers are up this way...drop by for some Yorkshire hospitality...wise cracks welcome. hehe

Ah, but are you old enough to remember when these particular cars ruled the custom car scene and regularly cruised the Kings Road, Chelsea:

http://nigelsworld.homeip.net/gallery/main.php?g2_...

Notables were John Balderchino's Hot 'N' Bothered RV8 powered Fordson van (in the pics) and the pearl white Ford Pop, Pinball Wizard?

Here in I believe it's second paint job: http://www.hotrodshowcase.co.uk/communities/4/004/...

I was there.

Wow ...see what you mean. eek...nice lineup.

I think we may share the same sort of interest in cars too.

I started going to Santa Pod in 1970, and have always been into the hot rodding/customising scene.

Built myself a couple of MK3 Cortina 'Savage' clones in the seventies, and also owned a RV8 'T-Bucket' rod back then . smile

I always wanted to build a V8 Moggy thou, a la Nick Mann. What a machine that was. cloud9 Prefer the street sleeper Q-car look on all my cars though. evil

I like most anything that makes a noise, however my own personal dream garage would be made up of cars you rarely see, that stand out in a crowd, V8 of course and that you hear before you see biggrin

De Tomaso, Iso grifo, Bizzarini, Alpina B12 E38, Merc AMG Hammer, Facel Vega and many others.

One exception, an aquaintence of mine has a Diablo GT 6.0 V12 that absolutely screams, much like this GTR, only his has a tax disc: wink

Just came back from the silerstone classic

20 F40's (red) lined up side by side

and more lambos, rarri's, lotus, cobras...50 maybe (real and jeckyl) porkers (yawn) massers, et al

But the Tivs outshone em all.
Been to Le Mans, Revival and a shed load of shows.....but never seen a turnout like that before !!
