So the plan was to take the wheels off to give them a really good clean, but that plan was foiled by the jack not fitting under the car.. DOH!

Anybody got any ideas? I guess a smaller jack would be the simplest solution, anybody know any suitable one?

can you not drive onto some planks of wood to lift the front a little allowing room for your jack?

I bought a cheap scissor jack and use it to one side of the cross rail that has the towing eye. It only needs a few turns to raise the front enough to get the big jack under. At the back I use it under a corner of the outriggers and then jack up the rear with the big jack on one of the main rails.
But I always use axle stands and never trust the jack.

I know both LIDL and ALDI over here have secial offers every few months where they sell 2.5 ton jacks for relatively small money and they fit under my car fine.

Worth getting a pair if they turn up anytime soon.
