My parents have just booked a retirement round the world cruise and are having difficulty finding insurance to cover it (ie. it's very expensive and standard insurance won't cover the cost should something happen and they not be able to go).

I know it's highly unlikely that anyone here has taken a retirement round the world trip on a cruiseship, but in case.. can anyone help with such an insurance company?

Thanks

I would have thought the cruise line itself would be able to provide insurance. Certainly, in my experience, they're falling over themselves to sell insurance once you've booked a cruise.

Nope, they haven't made any attempt to try and sell it. Good thought of enquiry though, thanks smile

What about Saga - they provide insurance for the elderly, often in cases where other providers won't (e.g. due to being over 85). No idea what the policy limits are, but may be worth a look??

This might be a little tricky, given that round the world cruises produce an average of 17 stiffs during the voyage.
