Splattering wheels (insides...)
Discussion
Arrgh!!
Washed the car yesterday ready for waxing today.
Drove the car about 100m to put it back on the drive after it was washed.
Got out to find all the insides of the wheels were splattered with rusty brown water... hm.... had to rewash them.
I have noticed this before.. where am I going wrong folks?
The brakes are big and they are drilled (Porshce) so I guess the water is getting in.
How do I stop this?

The fact is water is getting trapped around the bell housing of the wheel hub and in the calipers. When you drive the car to hopefully dry the disks before storing your car this water escapes.
The only solution is to dry the wheels after you have driven the car with a microfible and use a quick detailer to remove this muddy water. There is nothing else I can suggest sorry.
Its a pretty common problem on any car.

I have never noticed it to this extent on other cars though - it really splatters the wheels.
My car does very very few miles (like less than 60 a week) and I clean the car every weekend.
I would expect the build up of brake dust to be fairly low over that distance.
I guess like you say I am stuck really - will just have to drive it and then clean them again but avoid getting water on the discs.
