Whe-hey!!

kids are riding around, and free as birds biggrin

Brilliant biggrin

the like-a-bikes really made the transition a smooth one.

...do they do DH mtb's for 3yr olds?

It`s a great moment in Fatherhood..yes
I remember peeping out the window at my little`uns cycling around for the first time after some help with a immense amount of pride.

Great feeling isn't it, and odd how kids differ. My eldest had real trouble with her bike, so much so that we forgot the bike altogether for a bit, and got her going on a scooter so that she didn't need to think about peddling - presumably what the ride-a-bike things are.

Once the scooter was sorted (gaining confidence and vitally BALANCE) the transition to her bike was painless (up until she rode into a barbed wire fence in the field but that's another story smile ).
The current 3 year old however has no problems at all, from day... 2, and as you say... downhilling here we come! biggrin

ive had them zooming around on a pair of bikes like these for a long time.

they absolutely hammer around on them at break neck speeds!

but eventually they started lifting their feet, for longer periods of time to get more speed.. in doing so they were balancing, for longer and longer, until eventually, i felt they were ready.

i took the stabilisers off their propper bikes, in the park began the motivational talking to them lol.

took about 5mins each to get em riding successfully biggrin

now ive just got to re-teach them about the brakes biggrin

and even better.. ive got both their first rides on video biggrinbiggrin
