To answer this thread you need to understand where Ultima started and the fact that you are all in fact driving around in Nobles :-).
The Ultima came from Lee Noble's first venture into kit cars in the late 1980's, a company called Kitdeal (in this day and age possibly not the best branding)
Since 1988 when the KitDeal Ultima was first built little has changed apart from the fact that Ted and Richard have a much better eye for body design than Lee Noble ever did! Sure the bodywork on the GTR and CanAm are better than probably any other kit car in the market, the Chevy has become the standard engine, whereas early examples had a Renault V6. The chassis has had the wishbones moved to extend the wheelbase, move the fuel tanks, add the cage and add the outriggers for the body.
The Ultima was built alongside a replica of the 1967 Daytona 24 winning Ferrari P4 one of which I am building. Noble split his company in two in 1991 when he sold the Ultima to Ted (who as you read on the Ultima website was fitting Chevy engines and racing them) and the P4 was sold indirectly to NF Auto in Staplehurst Kent who ceased production in about 2005.
So the first factory built Ultima? Perhaps its as long ago as 1988, and perhaps it is owned by Mr Marlow.
