Le Mans Series - Algarve end of this month...

I'm staying at a friends villa in Lagos the week this is on and am thinking about going?
Anyone ben to the Algarve circuit before? What's access like in terms of traffic?
Will there be a decent crowd?
Any recommendations for best parts of the circuit to watch from?

Would love to see and hear the Astons on full chat?

A year ago my parents did a scouting trip to the then construction site , by the simple expedient of driving in until someone stopped them (then by being polite, getting a guided tour)
Access is fine, a dedicated turn off the A22. The circuit is apparently very good for drivers with quite a lot of elevation changes. Looking at the aerial photo, I would be tempted by the "other grandstands" premium if you plan to walk the circuit, and I would be surprised if it was very busy

Am a bit gutted as the party we are going with aren't that interested.
I think I may end up being a 'Billy No Mates" and go on my own.

Would love to see the GT cars as the sun goes down. All those lovely flames!

If I make it there I'll post some form of review.

Well worth a visit, even if no meeting on.The new DC roads are a dream, you could have a meeting on these alone.As its an opening up of area which was virgin land, the design and layout had a free choice and the Portugese have excelled, puts others to shame.A big No No will be the return trying to get back onto the N125.

I will hopefully be going, on holiday there on the sunday so looking at going late in the afternoon.
I went to The A1GP and to be honest found the traffic no problem at all even though the portuguese complained it took up to 20 minutes to get out!!!, been several times now and never had any problems getting in or out.

Right... I'm buying tickets and going for it.
Even if I go on my own. Motorsport in the blazing sun is too tempting to miss.

Remember the 1000k's is a night race and is due start at 7pm and finish around 1am. Take some warm clothes as it gets really cold up there at night as its quite high up in the hills and very windy.
May see you there if i can stay awake after getting up at 2am the morning before for the flight to Portugal.
