Morning All
I have taken the plunge on a new pre-reg VXR and asked the dealer to take the Vauxhall badges off.
Where do you get the correct HSV/Holden badges from and what do they cost please.
Sorry if this is a repeat thread only I couldn't find a 'badge' thread.
Thanks

At the risk of thread hijack, but is it easy to remove badges? Lighter fluid and meths have both been suggested, but I am not sure I am brave enough !!

Apparantly very easy to take them off so I am told by Picador and many customers request it. Walkinshaw will sell bonnet and boot badge, 4 wheel caps and 2 HSV badges to go in place of the V8 badge, and a rear window sticker for £72. Not cheap but they do have them. If anyone has spares I would galdly take them off your hands just let me know the price. BTW if you haven't heard the Wortec exhaust on the loud setting then you are missing out. Eyes shut if they had told me it was a Nascar I would have believed them. Incredible and I only revved it to 2500rpm.

Badge kits are available as i got an email off Tess at Walkinshaw Performance UK yesterday ...

"We are expecting a delivery of these badge kits some time this afternoon. Luckily we ordered a few kits.

The price of these are £72.00 plus Vat. We can send these to you so you can fit them yourself.

Thanks,"

removal of badges can be done without need for chemicals or hairdryer. Next sunny day take a length of thin fishing twine or that green plastic garden stuff and work it back and forward in a sawing motion. Long as you take your time it'll cut through the glue no problem. Done it with several cars now and no issues with scratches or marking paint. Any glue residue left on the paint will "rub" off with the use of a finger tip. Then clean and polish as normal.

For removal ive used fishing line and petrol to get rid of left over adhesive. As for Holden badges I get mine from www.ebay.com.au Last set of wheel badges cost me £21 delivered. HTH's

Hairdryer the badge so its warm, not hot. Then use dental floss and slowly cut through the glue. Gently reheat the badge if needed. To get the remaining glue off the car, i used glue and tar remover from halfords.
