Was something interesting happening in Yorkshire on Friday?

I was playing football with my little boy in the garden on Friday after work when there was a glorious sound overhead.
I looked up and a lone Spitfire flew over. It was a sunny evening (so it made it difficult to see), but I think it was pale blue with D Day invasion stripes.
A couple of hours later it passed by the way it had came.

My little lad was impressed, but at 2 years old he waves at anything that flies overhead.

Sounds like one of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight PR XIXs or possibly the Rolls Royce owned one.

There was a 1940's Weekend at a place near Dewsbury. They were supposed to have a flypast, wonder if it was anything to do with that?
