About time, he's supposed to be an ace at single seater racing from his USA career, but in his 1.5 seasons has been well and truely spanked by two rookies in the same car. I'd bet he's off back to the USA, but will his F1 misery have damaged his reputation?

Yet normally when people go the other way they do ok....

Still I guess you get a nicer class of people in the lower formulas Bourdais is good at.

a good choice to put Alguersuari in the car though, i thought he was very impressive in F3 last year, much more deserved than Hartley anyway..

Hartley was replaced by Alguersuari as the teams back up driver. Hartley was quoted as saying he wanted to concentrate on his wsr and euro f3 commitments as he wasn't getting the desired results and also he wouldn't have any free time until the end of the year, how true that is i'm not sure.....

Should have tried to get Anthony Davidson in the car.

I think key to this move is the link to Repsol. . .Hartley doesn't have that kind of backing.

He didn't get on with Torro Rosso's strict Austrian dress code, he was fine with the lederhosen but refused to have his hair cut.

I think you're absolutely right...................

Interestingly, I understand that the 'official' reason for the substitution of Hartley was to give more juniors the opportunity to see how things work in F1, attend debriefs etc.

I am dissapointed to see Seb go- he has under performed. However, replacing him with another rookie is not the right call.

Davidson would have been a good shout.

Davidson would have been a good shout.

Replacing him with pretty much anyone will be an improvement, he has been truly appalling

Arguably performed better and placed higher with a 2nd rate car for a couple of races last year, than the car was capable of. If the finances had allowed a full season and some development of the car we’d have seen and heard far more of this chap than we did.

Based on those performances IMHO a worthy if slightly contentious nominee to the best British f1 driver of 2008 award (if there was such a thing) A performance overlooked by the media frenzy surrounding hamilton

Hopefully Ant is in pole position for Rubens seat next season?, he's surely done enough graft for the 'Honda' team to have earned a drive IMHO.. Certainly used to post some pretty impressive times for them when 3rd drivers were allowed out in practice, which couldn't all have been down to development and fuel loads..
