Now I confess I thought, being a driver for 30 years plus, and having had loads of cars that I knew how to clean them.

I don't, clearly. I realise now that'm i'm just moving dirt around but making it quite shiny. having just stumbled across the HUGE knolwedge bank in this sub-forum I'm most impressed, and fearful of plunging into a world of wax and clay and buckets. More of my specific needs another time, but to set the scene.

Being firmly in a mid life crisis I have 2 cabrios, a 306 cabrio that I love and a new 2009 model Saab 93 Aero......that I love even more!

I did have a problem with swirl marks on the Saab, but started using AutoGrim Deep shine, and that has sorted it out for the most part. Back to the Saab on a different thread perhaps.

Anyway, back to the Pug. I need to do some serious work on the roof to get it clean and I have read up on that. The question to pose to all you detaiing nerds (no offense intended, as I regard that as a badge of pride) relates to the plastic rear window in the 306. At my 306 club forum there is an ongoing debate on what is best to use to deal with scratches and fading. The most polular is AutoGrim Fast Glass, but that's only so good.

I feel confident that someone here will give me some pointers!

Renovo is your friend.

Their website appears to be broken but a random google link gives: clicky.

Here is a link to a supplier of Renovo hood care products. Their range is very good and will certainly help with your clouding rear vinyl window.

AutoGlym Super Resin Polish removes misting quite well.
Greygate is another suitable/popular product.
