Hi all, My Mother in Law has shown me this omega watch she has had for a few years (sorry about the quality of the pics) and we were wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the watch. It only has 1 hand and no winder but we do have these. would it be worth having it repaired?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers
steve

Perhaps not, unless it has sentimental value. A service will probably cost more than its worth: well under £100 but Id expect it to sell for about £50-£80 when it was repaired too...

My guess would be that it is a ladies cocktail watch, probably circa 1950s. It may cost more to repair than it is worth financially but if it is a family heirloom and has sentimental value to you it could be worth doing. Your best bet would be to find a local watchmaker and get some estimates. Try here: http://www.bhi.co.uk/repairer.html#PRSEE

No, seriously.

You should, if you're interested, check with a local jeweller/dealer, not PH. I'm guessing it's as others have said, only worth what it's worth to you. However; some 'cocktail' watches, had a former life. Given the modernity of the Omega script on the face though, I'm guessing not this one. It would be beautiful restored though.

I'd keep it.
