BMW X5 --- Radio reception faults -- help

radio reception in x5 terrible , used to be fine and clear but now its terrible and fuzzy, the ariel has been checked and is supposedly fine and intact.

i have been told it may be a blown reciever?

has anybody had this kind of problem before? or know a good bmw electrics specialist in the london area
