Hi Guys
I am having to replace the radiator fan on the 400 and wondered if any of you can save me a bit of time.
I have 2 wires that go to the otter switch on the top nearside of the rad. One is black, the other green with a white stripe. These connect to the male spade connectors. The connectors are side by side and the outer connector is set slightly lower than the other.
My question is does anyone know which wire goes where or does it not matter.
If you know or are able to have a quick look at yours it would save me the risk of overheating whilst I identify it by process of elimination.
Thanks
Brian

Think the otter is just a make switch so does not matter? A way of testing fans is to short them out. What I have done is wire these to a make switch using piggy back lucar connectors and use that as an override, switch under the dash by my knee.
When I had my rad recored I had that otter hole blanked off and now have an in line temp sensor instead as the otter is in such an awful place to get at when it leaks. The wiring is still used for an override.

Thank you both.
I thought it wouldn't matter which way round but thought I ought to check.
I've put another fan in, replaced the totally melted fuse and it is now running as it should. Just need to put everything back together again and apply 20 plasters too my lacerated forearms!
Thanks again
