A while ago you may remember that I had the badges nicked off the back of my car and they damaged the paintwork whilst in the act. Ive since tried filling in the area with paint and polishing it up and its not to badbut still noticable. Well.... the police this morning dropped my Monaro badge back to me and confirmed they had caught the lads involved but since they were under age they could not be prosecuted and had received an official police warning only.

My question:

Is it possible to go after these kids (and parents if necessary due to their age) to personnally claim back the money required to repair my car? No point going round to flatten them as I will just end up in police custody but I want to do something now that the police know who it is...!

Sad to say it mate, but move on.

You'll get nowhere, and probably these little chunts' parents are prbably scum who will think nothing of trying to ruin your life for even suggesting their fat workshy kids have done anything wrong.

Console yourself with the fact that their lives will always be sh t. Your won't.

The thing is it annoys me and they caughed to the charge after my badge was caught in their house I believe.

I dont agree with letting it lie as they wont learn a lesson then.

Well, you asked for advice, and I gave it.

These feral scum have nothing to lose, and do not fear the police, prison, anything.

They will make your life a misery if they know where you live.

Leave it. It's just not worth it. Leave them to their sh t lives, and get on with your nice one.

Why not write a reasonable letter to the parents?

I'm sure something well crafted and non threatening would make you feel better and may make them feel guilty enough to cough up the cash.

Well intentioned, but quite possibly the most naive thjing I have ever heard in my life!

rofl

They almost certainly can't read, but they will know how to make a petrol bomb. They will also haveno money, once they've spent their dole on fags and SKY TV.

I've made no assumptions on the children's parents - it could be they're from ordinary homes. No idea.

I would go with the reasonable letter approach unless you have reason to believe the parents are as bad as the kids.

Most people are reasonable and want to do the right thing.

This is what you can do to get your car sorted.

A few years ago a dog that i had, ran out of the garden and got killed by a passing car. The car was a young lads pride and joy and was a right off. He only had third party insurance and i had none for the dog. After a week had passed and the pain of losing a best friend in front of my eyes had eased slightly, the lad gave me a call explaining about the insurance . I told him to get some quotes and i would sort it for him, he said if i paid for the parts he'd repair it himself.

I was telling my farmer friend the story and he told me that the previous year a lad had set fire to one of there corn fields, the farmers put in a claim on the parents house insurance and got payed. He suggested the car driver did the same to me i rang him told him to get some quotes for however much he needed to cover the car, and he claimed £4,000 on my insurance. I think i paid the excess of £75.

House insurance usually has libility cover and thats what your claiming against. Go see the parents explain the situation and you might get a respray.

I know what your saying Rog, me and Col would feel the same. The other day i saw and reported some scum half inching stuff out of a pub that had just closed down. This "gang" of shyts are known in our little town for being bastards. The thing is i go to bed each night now wondering if they'll have realised it was me and if so what damage will the car be getting
Mate it really is best just to leave it. As hard as it is, let it go. You could get your pound of flesh and i don't blame you but at what cost, and honestly would you be able to stop once you were eye to eye with them. What goes around comes around. They'll end up locked up sure enough. Move on. Your better than themyes

Cant write a letter as I dont know the address and the local BIB are very unlikely to give it to me bearing in mind my history locally up till a few yrs ago as a head doorman for a few nightclubs. I've droopped a line to a local solicitors to see what they suggest.

As for worrying about them, I'm not fussed. If anything happens around me then they will want to move by the time someone (not me) has retaliated 50 times worse!

I can’t believe how some of you are being so reasonable!!!! At the end of the day these little TcensoredT's have vandalised/invaded some body else’s property. In my book its an eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth, they don’t understand reasonable behaviour so why attempt give it??? I had an instance a few years back where some little toss pot knived the tyres on my wife’s car (for fun and no other reason, couldn’t just let them down to impress their mates)while it sat in the drive. I rang plod to inform them and they said there was nothing they could do, other than increase patrols in our area. They offered me victim support but when I said I didn’t need victim support but the little scum bags that done it would need victim support if I caught them in the act was only when plod took it seriously... However, the end result was still, that they never caught the little WcensoredKERS and I was stuck with a bill for replacing tyres that weren’t even FcensoredKED in the 1st place... We are to softly softy on crime and people who commit it and we shouldn’t take it laying down like good old citizens of good old FcensoredKING Blighty...
