I need to do a C format so want to install my emails later. (I thought I'd just drag my mail folder and copyt it to a disc, and copy them across again afterwards..but I dont know were to look..)
sorry from a pooter-numpty

On my computer, Outlook express stores things in this handy place:-
c:/Documents and Settings/(my username)/Local Settings/Application Data/Identities/<big thing in {} brackets>/Microsoft/Outlook Express/
Back up the files in this folder. Once you've re-installed, you may find that (my username) and the big thing in {} brackets will have changed. Shouldn't matter (in theory). Run Outlook Express once, close it down, then go to this directory and restore your files over the top of what's there. You'll probably have to re-enter all your POP/SMTP/username/password details into OE though.
Easy, huh? :/
Disclaimer: I haven't actually tried this, only using Outlook Express for newsgroups. But this is how I'd do it in your shoes. This hypothesis comes with no warranty, either express or implied, so I won't be held in anyway responsible if your computer explodes taking your slippers with it.
