rear view mirror mods

The fact that the rear view mirror is bit redundant when the roof is down has always bugged me so I made this:







It raises the mirror about 35mm so I can now see over the folded rear roof section when driving.

I'll have to do some drawings and get some prices, anyone else fancy one?
I should point out you have to take a hacksaw to the existing mirror so there's no coming back.

But its only a Pug 205 part anyway

You can turn the originl mount upside down, bend a bit and it raises it to maximum. Posted this mod, five years ago!

Yeah, I'd be interested in the adaptation. Griffs are meant to be top-down and rear vision is a little obscured!

True

However doesn't this mean gravity and vibration are always trying to wiggle the mirror off the mount?#

Also you have to whittle away the windscreen mount a bit don't you to get the thing to slide on from the other end?

Like the Aliminium myself,fits in with all the leven bits i have...

Or you could try this. Just a Halfords blind spot mirror screwed to a piece of ali.and sprung into the screen channel. Doesn't suffer from buffeting although one much bigger might.
