Hi guys need some advice/opinions,
My neices 2000 ford KA has got a bit of an erratic over revving problem, I had a listen to the car tonight and can hear what sounds like an air leak coming from the idle control valve when I looked there is no gasket on where the valve meets the plastic assembly attached to the inlet.
Oh and when you turn the car off it sounds like its sucking in a big gulp of air ( or maybe blowing out)
So should there be a gasket??
And does this blowing/sucking sound normal for a KA ?
Any help appreciated guys ..

If you want to check for an airleak- spray something flamable- like WD40 in that suspected region with the engine running. If there's an air leak- the engine revs will rise brieflyMy neices 2000 ford KA has got a bit of an erratic over revving problem, I had a listen to the car tonight and can hear what sounds like an air leak coming from the idle control valve when I looked there is no gasket on where the valve meets the plastic assembly attached to the inlet.
