I've never bought from a shop based in Hong Kong on ebay before, but they are selling a video camera I'd like at £200 less than over here in Blighty, and the postage is free.

Is it hit and miss with these type of shops or should I drop the paranoia and treat myself?

This is the item in question: http://tinyurl.com/m2gl2a

Import tax will take away some of the saving?

What's the cost of that normally? 15%?

I have bought a few new trakcballs for my BlackBerry from Hong Kong shops and they have been spot on in every way. Not quite a £200 camcorder but still from Hong Kong!

In my experience, all in you're talking closer to 21% - sad but true.!!

I have bought a few things from Hong Kong not anything as expensive as a video camera but I personally can say that they have delivered it faster than some stuff Ive bought here.

I have bought several things from HK with no problem including 2 bits of Hi-Fi at over £2k a pop.

The shop feedback is over 13,000, I can't see it being a problem.

On the duty thing, some declare them as a gift at zero conmmercial value, or as ex demo at very reduced value, apparently! Ahem!
