Brawn Testing at Kemble Wednesday

Heard this via a contact from the council
They have to apply for permission from the council because of the noise.

I am tempted to take the day off. Any guarantees they'll be there for definite, Friday? How close can you get to the car/drivers etc? Sorry, never been to Kemble before - Interested in taking some photos.

It depends on your security clearance. Generally you can see them from the on-site restaurant/bar, but if you can get through the gates you can go virtually all the way to the runway's edge and see the cars from about 30-40 feet away. You may get moved on if you hang around for too long though.

The McLaren guys weren't very happy with people looking at their car in pre-season testing (I wonder why!?), so you would be moved on virtually straight away, but I don't suppose Brawn have much to hide at the moment.

Not completely, they are allowed a limited number of days straight line aero testing during the year (8 days I think) and it has to be a specific test location not a circuit.

"Teams can also conduct eight one day aerodynamic tests carried out on FIA approved straight line or constant radius sites between 1 January 2009 and the end of the last Event of the 2009 Championship."

I wouldn't like to guarantee they will be there, but I will post Friday as soon as I get to work if they are there or not.
I would be surprised if you could get close as I never have been inside the perimiter fence, I always keep my binoculars in the car and look in from the car park on the main road.
