Hi everyone. I am based in the centre of Glasgow and was hoping to tap into Scotlands collective PH brains.
Has anyone got, positive, recomendations for me to follow up, ideally in or near Glasgow, where I can have a pair of stainless steel replacement pipes made up for my Jaguar XJ8 (x-308)
I want to have the front silencers removed and replaced with a pair of plain straight through pipes.
I would prefer to have the existing pipework removed and replaced by the same people who are manufacturing the new pipes to avoid any c**k ups...is it ok to say that??
So, long story short, does anyone have personal "they did a great job for me" advice?
Thanks in advance

These guys are first class, i've had them do a few exhausts for me over the past few years and have nothing but praise for their work.

I'd phone Meerkat then, as they haven't replied to an email enquiry I sent them around a year ago....

Seconded.
Fabrication is MIG not TIG, and one of the systems of theirs I've seen had a lot of spatter on it.

Yes, they are still going, they specialise in cheap shopping trolleys now, twin exhaust conversions where the pipe for the 2nd exhaust is piped straight across from the first one along the back of the car! Looks like a dogs breakfast eek

Doubles should be piped in a Y shape!!

Have used Meerkat in Kilbirnie. Pleased with the results and the service.

Used RMS in Prestwick about 8 years ago. Terrible experience. Was back several times to get it 'adjusted'. Started banging on the rear axle, rear box hanger broke clean off at least twice. I asked for it to be 'not too droney at motorway speed', result = couldn't talk to passengers at 70+ mph. I asked for the decat section to be built in such a way that come MOT time it could be swapped back easily. Result = at MOT time had to go back to RMS to get it changed. Took 3 of them, 1 hour to swap it.

Also allegedly the owner was recently up in court on a very serious charge.....

Yes very serious Same as the Michael Jackson "allegations" . And they have used mild steel welding wire on stainless Piping resulting in rusty joints as i have seen on my mates system done by them.

He then went to meerkat and has had a crackin system done by them again.

Can I just ask peter how did you get on with this?

Only I've an X308 myself and I'm curious about the cost of doing the same...
